System Requirements

To view the Anandabazar website in Bengali your browser must support dynamic fonts. These are  available on the following operating systems:

Microsoft Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and XP with Netscape Communicator, version 4.03 or later (excluding Netscape 6). 

Microsoft Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and XP with Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 4.0 or later (including Internet Explorer 8). 

Firefox: If you are using the Firefox browser and cannot see Bengali text, please get the IE Tab add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

If IE tab does not work for you, download the Padma Extension Add-on. 

Macintosh computers running System 7.5.5 or later with
Netscape Communicator, version 4.0 or later (excluding Netscape 6).

Solving your Bengali font display problem

If you are having problems with the Bengali font do the following (after logging in to your computer with administrative rights). Go to any site other than Anandabazar and do the following:

1. Please delete the Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer by clicking on
Tools-> Internet Options->Settings->View Files

2. Also delete TDServer Control from
Tools-> Internet Options->Settings->View Objects
OR
from C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\ using Windows Explorer
*Only delete TDServer Control, NOT other controls

3. Restart your computer

4. Now go to anandabazar.com and it will ask you to install a WebFont cab file. Make sure that you allow the download if a warning shows about ActiveX Controls.
Click on OK.

Note: If you still face a problem with the Bengali font, please check the size of the file TDServer Control (the size should be larger than 340 K). The size can be checked by going to
Tools-> Internet Options->Settings->View Objects

If the size is smaller than 340K please repeat the steps 1 to 4.

Netscape Communicator, version 4.03 or later (excluding Netscape 6)

If you are unable to view dynamic fonts it means you have to change your browser's preferences. To do this, click the link below:

If earlier you were able to view the site in Bengali but cannot do so now, it means your browser needs to be cleaned. To do this, click the link below:

• Cleaning the Cache

Microsoft Internet Explorer(IE), version 4.0 or later 

If you are visiting the website for the first time, you will be asked to download Bitstream's Web Font Player automatically. Be sure to click YES and accept the download.

If by mistake you have said no, you will be repeatedly asked to download Bitstream's Web Font Player. You do not need a link to any site to download the web font player.

If you are facing problems even after the download then you need to do either of the following:

• Clearing IE Cache
• Improve fonts appearance
